USS John Basilone DDG-122, Construction

The first piece of steel for the recently christened future USS John Basilone (DDG 122) was cut in 2017. Since then, it's taken roughly 3,500 long tons of steel, 200 tons of welding rod, 255 miles of cable, 70,000 gallons of paint and most importantly the hard work and dedication of our shipbuilders.
