Welcome Dinner

Ball Cap

Karl Weber and his son Jeff designed and made the Ball Cap.  The ball cap logo combines the DD-824 and DDG-122 info.  They presented a ball cap to each 824 crew member who attended the Jacksonville reunion.  Also, at the meet and greet with crew from the 122 (see below), the CO Cdr Brooks, XO Cdr Murphy, Command Master Chief Morrow and the youngest crew member at the meet and greet were presented with a ball cap.

Thanks for the ball caps, Karl and Jeff.  Bravo Zulu

CDR Matthew Brooks, CO USS John Basilone DDG-122, Challenge Coin

The CO's challenge coin links the DDE/DD-824 to the DDG-122.  The coin contains references from the DDE/DD-824 ship's patches.  Although our ships were different, we do share very similar stories and experiences.  The legacy of GySgt John Basilone brings together the crews of 824 and 122 and is extremely important as we connect and build a purpose for what we do every day.
